During my tenure on the AIGA NY board, I served as a member of the Branding Taskforce dedicated to overhauling the institution's identity and carrying its 40+ year legacy into a dynamic future. This comprehensive re-fresh of the largest AIGA chapter in the US was a massive, collaborative undertaking, spearhead by Executive Director Stacey Panousopoulos and Design Lead Christopher Guerrero.
Following the system's development, my primary role shifted to Motion Designer for the official announcement sizzle. I was tasked with developing and executing the visual language of the new identity in motion, ensuring the final film was impactful, emotionally resonant, and served as the definitive introduction to the chapter's refreshed look and feel for the design community.

All Blacks at War
Agency
Homegrown TV
Role
Creative Direction, Design, Motion Design
Background
In WWI, 92 former All Blacks went to war, thirteen of whom died in action. The legacy of the All Blacks, New Zealand’s national rugby team, runs deep within the country’s culture and identity.
The commissioned All Blacks at War documentary brings these thirteen men’s stories to life through military historian Dr. Chris Pugsley, ONZM, and former All Black Andrew Mehrtens, MNZM.
Mehrts travels the Western Front, grave to grave. Along the way, he connects with others who also have connections to these men: be they schools in NZ, former All Blacks playing in France, or a town that was liberated by Kiwi soldiers in WWI and has never forgotten. All Blacks at War can be streamed on Radio NZ and TVNZ+.

In 2024, AIGA’s annual design conference was held virtually. The theme for this year was “MARGINS”, exploring the uncharted territories of design.
AIGA invited the design community to join from home and virtually connect with creatives across the world for the ultimate inspiration. Margins represent spaces of opportunity, challenge, and innovation. Whether it's standing out in a crowded market, centering marginalized communities, embracing experimentation and failure, or redefining success, margins encapsulates a spectrum of possibilities for design.

Following a major rebrand of Firebase—Google’s app development platform serving over 4 million users—the visual identity was established, but lacked a cohesive system for video and social.
Challenge
The Developer Relations team needed a design system that was audience-centric and social-forward. The goal was to build a flexible, versatile motion toolkit with a long shelf life, so that it could allow the team to continue creating within tight budget constraints.
Solution
Collaborating with R/GA and sound design partners, I led the creation of a modular motion toolkit. We developed a system allowing for a wide range of color and layout adaptations. This ensured the content remained fresh and non-repetitive over time while staying true to the core brand.
Impact
By investing in a robust, vast toolkit upfront, we eliminated the need for bespoke creative on one-off videos. This saved the team significant budget and resources while establishing a unified visual consistency across multiple platforms.

I/O is Google’s premier annual event for showcasing the latest in developer solutions, products, and technology. While the in-person attendance is limited, the event’s global reach is massive, featuring keynotes, technical sessions, and hands-on learning pathways for a worldwide developer audience.
Tasked with scaling the event branding (created by the Events & Experiences team) for a global digital audience, Google Developer Studio focused on ensuring developers remained at the core of the creative execution.
My role involved leading the design and motion for the two workstreams:
1) Social campaign: developed the visual identity and motion toolkit for the pre-event, day-of, and post-event social campaign.
2) Video content production: designed and executed the on-screen graphics package for 100+ video session content, driving consistency and accessibility across technical presentations.
